I am Marcelo Ostres, talented film and television director, advertising creative, musician, university teacher, father of Tomás and Sofía and husband of Majo. I started my career in art from a young age as a professional musician. I studied Production and Direction for Television at the Universidad del Salvador; at the same time, I worked in different production companies in Buenos Aires. I performed theater, dance, cinematography and staging for theater. I specialized in Art History. In Cuba, I studied at the International School of Cinema and Television of San Antonio de los Baños. I attended online Processes of artistic creation and conceptualization of projects at the Node Center Institute in Berlin.
I was Director of cameras at Multimedios América. At Canal (a), an art and entertainment channel in Latin America, I done concerts, operas, and ballet with international artists in the best theaters in Buenos Aires, as well as various jazz cycles. Together with Oscar Araiz I made Contemporánea 95 and the Ciudanza festivals. In addition, I directed cycles of plays, adapted for television and several seasons of programs for this channel.
I performed the staging and lighting design for the shows of the choreographer and dancer Graciela Ríos Saiz and her Ballet Hispania. Together with Yamil Ostrovsky, choreographer and director, I created the video dance piece A Survivor from Warsaw.
At the Promofilms Production Company, I made and wrote scripts for reality shows such as the Robinson Expedition, The Conqueror of the End of the World and Protagonistas de telenovela of Colombia.
I taught documentary courses at the La Crujía Communication Center. I was professor in the National Broadcasting Career at the National University of La Matanza (UNLaM). I am Professor of Practical Works in the Audiovisual Design and Multimedia Design for the bachelor’s degree in Advertising at the National University of Lomas de Zamora (UNLZ).
As partner of the Production Company Matiz Arte Digital, I worked as a creative and director of advertising spots designing marketing strategies and products for the Discovery Channel, among others.
At Quiroga Media Agency, I currently work for creativity for media, transmedia and storytelling.
I co-directed with Miguel Bertea, the Da Vinci Files, the documentary series, winner of the Martín Fierro 2006 award, distributed in Europe, Asia and America; and The Horse Video Encyclopedia, a collectible of forty-eight chapters on the horse world made for Italy and France.
I am Director of cameras at the Senate TV Channel of the Honorable Senate of the Argentine Nation.
At the Bertea Films Production Company we are writing and preproducing several fictional series these days.
Currently, I continue to train and update myself in new formats and trends. I go on searching for new projects and new challenges to persist growing as a professional and humanly.
